Wikipedia@lemmy.world•Where can I get a collection of Wikipedia articles in e-book format?English
3·1 month agoI don’t know of any epub format sources, but it is possible to set up a static copy of Wikipedia on a personal computer using Wiki Data Dumps and Kiwix. Mayhaps that could be a starting point for public access or conversion.
Yes and no. No because the amount of data that can be fit through an internet connection has physical limits, just like a water pipe supplying water at a maximum rate, but yes because you can create a game, let’s call it "Black Leopard’s Underground Revenge on a Moonless Night, all black screen, all the time, fantastic compression ratio tho, crunches down to a 2 MB zip, downloads in under a second, expands to 500GB of Disappointment in the Dark.
