My sibling is trying to launch an AI music career and it drives me off a fucking cliff. No shit, one of the songs they made was used at a funeral and I nearly barfed. What’s worse, whenever I try to talk any sort of serious subject, about shit in the world, or what I’m dealing with in my personal life, their advice is to find a creative outlet Iike theirs.

I agree, but I fucking hate that it’s AI that’s breaking the concept. First of all, it’s not like it’s a righteous fight, whoever wins, we all lose. Second, as much as I think copywrite is abused like hell, I still think the idea, one closer to the original, has merit and does provide crucial protections for individuals.

Sadly the fucking plagiarism machine and the anti-human dirtbags running it have found the absolute worst possible way to break the system. Ultimately resulting in nothing for us plebes that copywrite should protect and all the benefits that the shit copywrite coroporate power grab produced for them.

I quit drinking many years ago. I liked beer, but I would have said that it didn’t taste that great, even the best ones were at best…interesting . Once I quit though, I think it must be the alcohol flavor or something because I have found I really like stuff like hop water. Nice and fruity and bitter (in a good kind of way), it’s just lovely.

Oh man, I absolutely adore coffee, it’s one of my all time favorite things. It like happy in a glass. But I’m getting old, and I can’t deal with the caffeine like when I was a kid, and decaf is just ruined coffee (not sure if it’s the process or the missing caffeine flavor, but I’ve never tasted a decaf I like).

But the unaltered stuff, I even munch plain beans every now and again. Then again, I’ve never bought a can of coffee, my entire life I’ve only drank beans I ground myself, sometimes at the store, but it’s always started as a whole bean.

Not suggesting you try it, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Frankly I’m glad because it leaves more for me :)

Bingo. How I see it too, it’s why I became a a leader in my kids activities too. Figure I might as well do whatever I can to help build a better generation.

Thing is, I don’t really care about the Kennedy center. I do care about this fucking asshole acting like he owns the entire city and can remodel it with his tacky aesthetic at will. Dude needs to be stopped, like now… This shit is fucking insane and I’m in shock every day that people have no desire to speak about any of this. When you try, you are labeled as disruptive or intolerant (I am intolerant of intolerance to be fair).

Not all of them. I’ve got three school aged kids, one plays guitar and saxophone, one plays clarinet and trumpet, one is just starting the trombone.

If anything, I am seeing the kids push back against this shit. My kids have an ear for and hate ai produced music; they get so angry about “clanker music”. They really value being able to make their own, and I love the constant noise of real instruments being practiced in my house.

Lots don’t care, but there are still many pockets of kids who hate all this as much as we do, and are pursuing a more analog lifestyle.

Belive me, I’ve tried. I’m an asssitant scoutmaster for my kids troop, and we camp about monthly in the summer. So, I’ve got lots of phone free weekends behind me. I’m also got kids in sports too, so go to games and meets.

I’m taking steps but I still have work to do.

I wish I had your brain. I feel like unless I have a constant stream of information coming into my brain, I might go insane.

It’s awful, and unhealthy, and I’m trying to figure out how to escape this paranoid insanity, but it’s what I’ve got until I can figure out the fix. Reminds me, need to schedule my next therapist appointment.

I am an it worker, got in before the .com crash, was there to connect the office the the internet from the start. I Alwsys imagined I’d be bringing my eventual kiddos into the nerd world that’s been so good to me.

Now that I hactually have them, and they are exploring career options, I couldn’t be happier that I failed to raise nerds. Not a one of them is remotely interested in tech, one wants to pursue forestry for example…

I am so happy. I hate the field, I hate what it’s become, I’ve even grown to hate the technology. Looking forward to the camping trip next weeeked though…

It’s because we have the worst possible people to steward us though this transition that is being forced on us.

Living though history sucks. What is happening in the world is not ok, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but there will be somber lessons taught about all this in the future.
