I guess I understand. Maybe your life is full of politics you cant get away from and Lemmy is like a break from all that. And then it becomes super important to not see it here.
I dont watch any politics in real life and thats really helped me feel grounded and positive. I understand the view that its poison because it kind of is, mental poison.
Scared of Apples, that was unexpected and funny as hell.

9·1 day agoI mean yeah, you can read about these people and understand the theory, but if you meet one, you will just feel they are different from body language and eye contact. They often seek power and will unite with other people who have power.
They will only care about weak people if they can benefit from it. They love to do virtue signaling and other forms of manipulation of people who dont see them for what they are.
They will always try to turn your friends against you so you are alone.
Are you saying im a toilet? :)
Im sure he likes to do both.
Some of you guys seem more interested in communities following every single rule rather than have people actually post content.
This is Lemmy, not reddit, so perhaps we can just be happy that users are active? A few political posts when a new war was just launched may not be too much to deal with, or?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•The same people who rage against authority love moderating communities where their ideology is the only one allowed
21·1 day agoNot true for everyone. But sure, I understand the idea. Its just that i know people who hate authority and because of that, they know how to act with compassion instead. They dont speak bad of others and they dont have a lot of ego to defend.
The best leaders are reluctant to even have power. And they see it more as a responsibility to do right by the people.
I dont see that type of leader in America at all, but they exist in real life in Europe.

Technology@lemmy.world•Anthropic says it ‘cannot in good conscience’ allow Pentagon to remove AI checksEnglish
3·4 days agoIts been an american leadership view for as long as ive been alive that American lives are worth at least a hundred times more than other lives.
That is, in war situations, not in situations where leadership takes care of its citizens. No, there those lives are worth next to nothing. So American leadership is pretty much at war both with its own people and countries who dont want American culture.

52·4 days agoDidnt you guys watch that black mirror episode? It was exactly like this. Look away from ads and you get punished.
There are Ai clips now on YouTube where they replace actors in famous movies, like putting Tom Cruise in the matrix or whatever.
I dont watch them because I dont want my nice memories of these movies to be overwritten, but it shows how easy it is today to do.
Made me laugh. I dont know how true it is but its funny. :)

9·10 days agoYou can feel that this guy is not actually a human being inside. At least I can see that its just a surface.
Im very interested in how that happens. Is it souls being born into this existence that are not from the same source as ordinary humans, or what has happened here. Its interesting.
Its like the soul has been replaced by the mind, and the mind wants humans to be machines.

Ive been here three years, and ive been accused of being all kinds of things. You cant let it get to you. You should absolutely think about peoples comments and figure out if its about their own issues or if its genuinely a problem with your own personality though.
There are users here who had difficult upbringing because of racism or gender issues, and they will think you are a hateful person if they see a comment they dont agree with on those topics.
Hang in there. If you can make comments and posts that make people feel good (many upvotes), you are helping the community I would say.
