The only problem is that it’s a wasted vote. In the UK and US, there are only two parties that have any chance of getting in, as as much as I would love to see a Green ruling party, it will not happen until we have proportional representation. The Lib Dems are probably your best bet for that in the UK, seeding as they got 70 seats in the last election. Once they get power and implement proportional representation, then we can vote for whoever we actually want.

Tbf if everyone “wasted their vote” then the “waste” candidate could win, but the self defeating prophecy of “they can’t win so don’t even try” being so popular is exactly why “they can’t win so don’t even try.” It’s an ouroboros of dumbassery.

I mean, it’s not like The Whigs had a bunch of internal disputes and split off to join the newly formed 3rd party “The Republicans” who then went on to become way larger than they were in their beginning as a third party or anything, that’s why it’s still Whigs vs Democrats and always has been, 3rd parties like The Republicans are just a fad since the 1850s, you’ll see or whatever.

All I’m saying that it’s quite convenient for the parties in power that you can’t remove them without breaking their rules.

If you believe the greens don’t have a shot in the UK you’ve not been looking at the polling. Both the major parties are polling atrociously while the greens are currently sitting in second. Also o shan’t be voting for the lib dems on the back of them promising vote reform I fell for that last time and it went atrociously for all.

Really? I’ve been unplugged from world politics in all but the most obvious events, because… well, living in a crumbling fascist society and all that jazz.

That news about the UK Greens is fantastic!
