Overall it did get to that point. My favorite was when they explored senior rights and respect for abrasive cultural customs in that episode where she falls for a scientist who can save his planet from destruction.
Is Majel a previous Star Trek actor like that one ship doctor fron TNG ? You can feel her influence on it, she had to have had some pull in the writing room with the performance she was bringing to the table. She’s way too good to let that character be relegated to only a punchline

Majel was Chapel on TOS
That’s so cool how they do that. I didn’t see very much of TOS but finding out there’s like a “Star Trek Royalty” cast was awesome
I’m getting the impression that you don’t know she was married to Gene Roddenberry.
Or that she was the voice of the ship’s computer from TOS all the way through to the 2009 movie (i.e. her role only ended because she died).
I DID NOT 😃 that’s so funny!! I love that
I only finally watched TOS this past year, its worth the time :)
Maybe that’s what I should do. I was burning out on DS9 a little
Yeah itll be a nice contrast. Episodic, more lighthearted, and most of it holds up well.
