      That’s a comforting thought but I somehow suspect people who cut hair for a living are overwhelmingly extrovert and WANT to talk to strangers, not least because that’s kind of part of the (unwritten) job description. *shudder*

    When I still went to the barbers some years ago they usually just talked to each other and left me in peace (to read my Donald Duck comics).

    Lithgow did such a good job ensuring his legacy. I definitely don’t immediately think of a horrible bigot the moment I see him instead of 3rd Rock and Buckaroo Bonsai.

    My barbershop has a “silent service” box you can tick when making an appointment. I love them for it.
