Imagine if a gang of five people breaks into your house, decides that they want to live there now, and proceeds to kill your entire family. Would you be justified in killing all five of them before they kill you, even if it then turns out that one of the robbers was there because he was held at a gunpoint and told to rob the house?
That’s basically the only crime committed by 36 our of 38 men killed that day.
The resistance were not the one who should have been punished that day. The ones planning, ordering, performing and guarding this very execution were the ones guilty of a genocide comparable to the Holocaust (well, much worse, relatively speaking). And their direct ideological descendants and followers are the ones ruling the land to this day. Seriously, fuck the founding fathers, fuck lincoln too, they should all be relegated to the same place in museums as hitler.
