Facing a January 30 deadline for another federal government shutdown, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Tuesday that the Democratic leadership would not seek to block funding of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other units of the Department of Homeland Security.

The American Prospect reported that several Democrats in closely contested districts would be voting for the ICE appropriation. “They’re terrified of being labeled anti–law enforcement,” an unnamed source told the liberal magazine. “They want this to go away so they can talk about the cost of living more. Problem is, it’s not going away.”

    If the Democrats are too scared then maybe it’s time to go. They’ve been fattening themselve with corrupt money that they only know how to give up at the first resistance. There’s no strategy at this point, just a buch of headless chickens.
