Most libs don’t even believe the first one. If rent in your area is 1200/mo for a 1bd, a living wage of 3-4x rent would be 20-28/hr, and that’s assuming single income, childless.
Ask a lib if minimum wage here should be 28/hr, they’ll likely laugh at the idea of teenagers and/or fast food workers getting paid enough to live without support, and don’t even think about asking if they should be able to support dependents.
Or at least they would like if the first one were true, but will fight any means to bring it about.
