Yeah the more realistic explanation than Russia controlling him is that Russia pushed the most divisive and unstable narcissist they could into further and further positions of political power through a variety of techniques including using connections with him and disinformation campaigns. They didn’t do this because of the limited leverage they have over him, but because his behavior damages the united states’s capacity to maintain internal cohesion and external influence. The fact that he ideologically aligns with putin is a fortune coincidence for them

I think it’s much more likely that almost everyone in Trump’s orbit is controlling him. Probably showing him fake AI vids to convince him of things while flattering and cozening all the while. He’s like a Beyblade getting wound up by every player and lashing out in every direction.
