They are already in a Supreme Court Challenge over Birthright Citizenship.
It’s crystal clear that if you weren’t born here, they want you out. If you are here on a Visa, get out. If you were born here of non-citizen parents, get out. They are now looking at those with citizenship, and if you are determined to have broken the law, you are out. They are trying to find excuses to rescind citizenship for Somalis that they determine have violated the law.
What constitutes “breaking the law?” They tried to claim that innocent ElSalvador deportee Kilar Abrego Garcia was accused of “human trafficking,” and that led to his deportation. It turned out that the charge was 100% due to him being pulled over for a speeding ticket, while driving construction workers to a job site. He was a responsible worker, and his boss trusted him to use the company van to drive the other employees to the job, but the MAGA DoJ decided to characterize that as “human trafficking,” and use that as an excuse to deport someone who has spent most of his life here.
And why was he here in the first place? Because he was escaping gang activity, and forced recruitment into a criminal organization, by coming to America. He’s a guy who was trying avoid a criminal career.
So a traffic ticket may be enough to pin a “criminal history” on, and justify deportation to a life sentence in a torture prison.
If you aren’t a rich white person, you aren’t going to be included in the future of America.
US Citizenship is the only one I have, PRC does not do dual citizenship and its automatically revoked upon gaining foreign citizenship
I would hate to live there even if I somehow restored citizenship. Ugh, fucking firewall to deal with…
The US is the only country I really “know”.
Not privilaged enough to just find another country to immigrate to that isn’t already worse than the US. Work visas are not immigration visas, lose the job and you’re getting kicked out in like… 90 days or less… very unstable imo. Its very hard to get actual permanent residency in another country.
Why the fuck should I leave? That feels so wrong, playing right into the hands of autocrats and anti-constitutional traitors. Sure, is safer to leave (that is, if I could even find a place that’ll take me), but FUCK THAT! I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HERE, and I refuse to leave. Want me to leave? Make me lol. Why make their job easier?
Imagine if non-whites all just left today? Democracy is over. 51% of white dudes would just vote conservative forever. Autocrats would’ve finish stealing this country and all the nukes and the military and the tech to impose the will all over the world. Also what about the indigenous people? Do we just leave them here to die at the hands of white conservative men? That sounds so wrong. Nah I aint leaving. I refuse.
I’m on your side. Be safe, brother.
