When i stumble over reddit these days and start reading a comment thread, i almost always encounter this kind of comments, mostly in the most interesting part of the thread:
hard-to-find subtract rhythm fly shelter crush historical ancient cough smell

It’s fucking annoying and frustrating.
This destroys the thing that made Reddit good. Coherent discussions that went somewhere, good or bad.
So, it really is working.
I know that this is the intended effect of erasing reddit contributions made in the past.
Make it so, that they shouldn’t be able to sell Reddit’s content anymore, because the solutions to problems or the nail biting stories within comment threads are mostly broken and/or incomplete.
Given how Reddit betrayed their user base, this is the way - imo
Had the problem last week. I searched for something super specific in Cookie Clicker and someone had the same question on Reddit. It went something like this:

Thanks! But [more specific question]
[Redacted]
Oh thank you very much!
I mean, yeah it sucks that I had to continue searching but I still had to smile that moment. Because this is what we wanted, making Reddit a useless Swiss cheese of a website. That’s why we deleted our contributions and it will only get worse with time.
Remember forums? They were amazing sources of information. They’re falling offline, because Reddit and discord. Now reddit and discord are enshittifying. I hope that redacting posts like that helps bring visibility to normal people, but I fear it’s not. Especially because ai scraped it already.
im still using forums for certain things, but it wont be aggregate like before reddit. only niche. theres even one about social media/bans and evading it.
