I’m done with mindfulness and drinking water. I just want bad things to happen to bad people in power.

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•Trump approval just hit the 30s. Can his numbers get any lower?
17·1 month agoLet’s stop giving NewsWeek any traffic and instead link to Silver’s approval tracker and article . There’s much more analysis here than the rag linked above.

Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Happy Transgender Day of Visibility everyone
8·1 month agoIt does do that. I was thinning a little on top before I started and now I’ve got luscious locks!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's been your best experience that you've had on the Fediverse? What about it made it stand out?
1·1 month agoI remember the first Voat exodus. It became a Nazi shithole soooo fast. Glad it’s gone now.

pics@lemmy.world•Happy Transgender Day of Visibility! Pictured is my very first time wearing a dress in public while at a protest in the middle of the Bible belt. Trans rights, babeyY
12·1 month agoOh gosh! Last time (above picture) was fine, zero burns. This week was different, haha. I sure learned my lesson. Definitely wearing sunscreen to the next protest.

6·1 month agoGender crises are some of the worst experiences ever. They’re especially difficult when you’re in an environment where you can’t talk to loved ones about it.
It makes me very happy to see how trans-friendly Lemmy has remained even while the rest of the Internet caters to bigots.

Technology@lemmy.world•After more than 15 years on the platform formerly known as Twitter, Cambridge is leaving XEnglish
3·1 month agoI could have sworn I watched a video by FediHost about that, but I either can’t find it or it never existed in the first place. I have seen some places move to Mastodon, so I edited my initial comment to be more accurate to my current info. Sorry!

News@lemmy.world•U.S. Supreme Court rules against Colorado ban on ‘conversion therapy’ for LGBTQ+ kids
12·1 month agoHow disappointing. Expected, but still. We ban all sorts of other harmful medical or practices, but this gets a pass because the stranglehold religion still has on the US.
My heart breaks the kids who will experience abuse because of this.

13·1 month agoGood. I’m curious to see where they land. Most likely Bluesky, but I’ve heard of some local governments moving to Fediverse instances, whether they’re Mastodon or local.

I’d like there to be a balance. The memes are a good way to get more eyes in the community initially, but I’d like to slowly switch over to focus more on music as the community grows. Right now, I’ve got a featured song of the day, we just finished making an introductory folk punk playlist, and we’re getting started on a deep cuts list.
