  • While true picking anything is arbitrary, picking something that’s reliably constant on this planet is definitely less so than old measurements of the length of some king’s arm length or whatever that cannot be intuitive to anyone at all (unless their arm happens to be the same I guess, but that’s very inconsistent at best).

Maybe I was too vague, but picking something that can be derived consistently is ordered of magnitude less arbitrary than whatever literally everything in the imperial system is.

As for fahrenheit’s original 0° being an “oopsie”, clearly the high end is very clearly still not based on boiling. The scale isn’t based on something if the number that thing happens at is 212°. Even 200 is just ugly.

The scale should’ve been redone once that got sorted out, ancient communications standards be damned. Even just forgiving that, it should’ve been tossed out in favor of a cleaner method immediately. Keeping that filth is just unconscionable.

  • I haven’t really been trying to convince people to switch, but I have been telling people I’ve switched to metric for at least temperature (so far).

And that’s less to conversation about how it’s just objectively better than fahrenheit in literally every single way, except familiarity. Which given that any switch in life would have that problem, I see that as a non-issue.

Scales should never be based on arbitrary things, or creatively-decided things. They should have a concrete, absolute, and objective thing they’re based on, and keeping it based on a certain number for scales of units is better than 12in to a foot, 3 feet to a yard, etc.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be base 10, but given that’s what it society uses, that’s probably best for us, but any base will do, as long as it’s consistent.

  • How about dining every member of literally every penny they can access, and also not another dollar for them, ever?

We need a complete list of everyone who’s ever worked for them and blacklist them from every business. Shot down ICE, starve them of every penny they have, blacklist them from every business, every job opportunity, and every charity or welfare. Y’all can literally just rot in the street, we’ll clean you up later. Byyyye

Of and take away legal recourse too.

Don’t necessarily incentive just brutalizing them, because the goal is their suffering, not just execution. Don’t shorten the fun.

Make content out of their attempts to secure food and housing.

Sympathizers can suffer a sliding scale version of the punishment.

  • My siblings were debating issues with it and about how willing they were to just deal with it.

I’m just shocked at how addicted everyone is to it that it could probably say “Trump is watching all users’ front cameras while the app is open” and kids would still be like "hmmm what are the odds he watches me though?

    But everybody’s a zombie.

I mean I downloaded it, back really early, to take a peek. After 15 minutes, I decided I hated the short format, and peaced out.

It seems to largely be a generational thing. Millennials are (in my perception) mostly on it just to make money, zoomers just want that crack IV drip.

Obviously this is just a trend, and there are counter examples everywhere, but that seems to be more true than not. At least from the outside looking in.

And given it’s totally obnoxious censorship rules, now I have to deal with hearing about people getting “unalived”, or “adult fun time”, and “p 3 dee oh” from creators that multistream. Even without being there, I’m forced to experience the cancer secondhand.

That’s my main problem with it. None of the other problems affect me directly much since I’ve always avoided it, but that is smeared all over my shit.

  • I haven’t either for a few years since I started having medical issues and didn’t even live by myself anymore.

Going to free myself this year though. I don’t have much access to it, but I believe I know someone with an old stash waiting for a good opportunity.

I never knew about testing them before my last trip though, so I was playing with fire by accident, but at least I didn’t get burned.

No idea how strong it week mine were, but from at least 3 different sources they seemed consistent strength-wise.

I’ve never done more than 3. And I only did that once. It was absolutely amazing, except for the very end. But the last few hours were horrifying. I’m not sure if it was being alone at the end or if the amount itself was just too much for me.

If I got regular chances to have some again, I might try 3 again, if I have overnight plans to hang with whoever I’m dropping with.

But otherwise it’ll just be 2 for me.

My best memory was playing some video games while waiting for it to kick in and having to stop because I couldn’t make it what I was seeing, the screen was just rainbow colors.

I was thinking to myself “I think it’s working now lol”.
