we hate technology that will affect us negatively. and capitalism along with the industry of surveillance advertising has made sure that even digitalized observations will affect people negatively, even if some does not know or want to admit. it can be said generally like that, because the general consumer uses devices and services where they are not in control of the data their devices collect.
we don’t want to be recorded, and that’s the end of it.

that’s algorithm driven content platforms for you. youtube recommends to most people videos where people are raging, over the normal content of the channel. even people who don’t know him get to see it, or otherwise hear about the rage. then, since many are not watching the new videos youtube will recommend them to fewer people than before. meanwhile the rest of the internet only gets to know about the rage, and decades of good work and charity does not matter at all, because that’s the boring past nobody gets to know of. even the original viewer base gets reduced, because many see this fuckup but few remember what the creator is like actually. and the algorithm will surely not help to remember by showing the old videos.

third places are closing one after another. because my generation is growing up, getting full time jobs and losing basically all free time. and the younger generation is not interested anymore in social experiences, as the places closing admit themselves.

these “you are going to be __ later in life” things are so misleading. there was another comment recently, saying don’t worry you don’t have friends, you’ll have so many! nothing will just happen out of the blue, if your circumstances are not right. the “good things” really can just happen to avoid you if you are not actively searching (and finding) them.
