He totally looks like a cheesy movie supervillain.

I’ve been testing both for some time and the differences are pretty minor. What I really like about PieFed comes down to two things: how it groups cross-posts and their comments (on the web version), and the moderation tools. The downside is that there are a lot fewer mobile apps that support it.
Cross-posting is an amazing feature that’s still massively underused.
In other words, you have a case where “the people in power are cowards who are trying to protect their power”—the exact case for which this should work, but it doesn’t work because… well, because people are idiots and don’t do what you think they should do, certainly not because the whole point is utter nonsense.
So weapons only prevent tyranny when the majority is left-wing? That makes perfect sense.
I haven’t ignored it; I told you that if it works in one place and not in another, it’s because it’s not the key element.
So, gun ownership isn’t a determining factor in preventing tyranny, but it will increase the problems of violence in society. Noted.
Yes, in the USA it’s working great to prevent tyranny and the accumulation of power by the elites.

politics @lemmy.world•Dragged down by an unpopular president, Republicans are bracing for a midterm trouncing
0·1 month agoI can’t talk to people because I’m not American, and after '24 I’m clear that my sources of information are biased and left-leaning.
Realistically, and with everything that’s happened, do you really think the Republicans will hold out?
From the outside, it looks like significant chaos; either the Democrats are very stupid, or the Republicans have massive media outlets to manipulate people (and letting that happen brings us back to the stupidity of the Democrats)
I haven’t played Dead Space but from what I read about the plot, a shooter with aliens, I don’t think it fits the type of horror I’m talking about.
You may be right about classic horror and jump scares, but I think psychological horror needs more space and introspection, and that fits better with literature. That’s my opinion, of course.

I expected it, but not so soon, to be honest.
